Dr. Ingo Dönch studied chemistry at the Free University of Berlin with a focus on polymer chemistry. He completed his studies in 2004 with a diploma thesis on “Atomic force microscopy of polyelectrolyte multilayers” at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces MPIKG in Potsdam-Golm.
From 2004 to 2009, Mr. Dönch completed his doctorate at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces on the topic: “Mechanical properties of polyelectrolyte multilayers at different charge densities and hydration states”. He worked extensively on analytical techniques such as atomic force microscopy and neutron reflectometry.
As a PostDoc at the MPIKG, he worked on research into corrosion protection using sol-gel coatings as a replacement for chromium, as well as on intelligent, self-healing paint coatings. Electrochemical measurements were carried out on the test specimens for the analyses. Two years of employment in the public sector and another two years at Capsulution Pharma AG gave Mr. Dönch insights into personnel matters, laboratory management, business development, and patent administration.
Since 2017, Mr. Dönch has been working as a postdoc at the Chair of Sensors at IMTEK, University of Freiburg on the topic of bioinspired biomaterials, 3D cell culture, and cell culture monitoring in microsensor technology., on the topics of bioinspired biomaterials, 3D cell culture,
