Dr.-Ing. Per Arvid Löthman is an interdisciplinary researcher and teacher. He studied Materials Science at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg , Germany, and the Alfred University, NY, USA. In his doctorate at the University of Twente, Netherlands/University of Saarland, Germany he worked on self-assembly, magnetics and in several subsequent interdisciplinary projects on bionanotechnology, microfluidics, virology, archaea and arachaea viruses, micro- and nanoparticles, medical microrobots (such as magnetotactic bacteria), carbon nanotubes and graphene (sensor applications) and biomimetics, in which cooperation partners such as the Institut Pasteur in Paris, the CEA Aix-en-Provence and the Aix-Marseille Université among others were involved. Per Arvid Löthman conducted research and taught for several years in industry as well as at national and foreign universities, colleges and research institutes, such as the Fraunhofer Institute, the Max Bergmann Center for Biomaterials, the TU Dresden, the École Polytechnique de Montréal, the Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences and KIST Europe, in addition to supervising bachelor's, master's and doctoral theses. He teaches and designed around 5 different lecture courses at universities and colleges (HS Kaiserslautern, HS Fresenius, HTW Berlin, HFH Hamburg, HS Nordakademie, the University of Saarland and the University of Bayreuth).
Dr. Löthman is research group leader (Organ-on-Chip, microphysiological systems) under Professor Anayancy Osorio-Madrazo at the Chair of Additive Processes for Tissue Reconstruction (Organ Printing) at the University of Bayreuth and Professor of BioMechatronics at the European University of applied Sceinces Hamburg (Euro-FH) in Hamburg, Germany.
